Agency review post?

I don’t know if this is even relevant anymore, but I’m considering doing an agency review post – my experiences with my agency…

I don’t know, does it matter anymore?

Eh, I’ll probably do it just to get it off my chest.  What else are blogs for? :)

A new journey, a new blog…

I leave for Vietnam on Thursday.  I will blogging my trip on my new blog Meeting Matthew.  Please join me there as I meet my son for the first time.

This blog will be here for everything other than my Vietnam trip.

Ack!! So much to do! So little time!

First, I want to thank everyone for their support over the past several months.  You’ve been tremendous! I wouldn’t have gotten thru this without all of you.  Kelli and Tracy, I owe you both emails.

Now…I have a G&R date of October 13th.  Yay!!! I’m leaving JFK Airport on the 9th and arriving in Hanoi on the 11th.  I’m going to meet up with two of the other TQ families who are having G&Rs the week before.  We can’t believe this is finally happening.  Even better, two TQ families are on their way home as we speak – the first TQ families to get visas in forever!!!!

The nursery is pretty much all set.  Clothes have been washed and prepared.  I’ve booked flights, made hotel arrangements and told work to get by without me for the next few months.

yay!

Look who’s coming home!

Everyone, meet Matthew:

Matthew!

Matthew!

Finally, after almost 200 days of waiting, my I600 has been approved! I can’t believe it! Pinch me!

Good news for one of the hens! :)

Our dear friends at BringHomeLulu received their I600 approval! In less than 3 weeks! Yay!

The children are coming home.  Finally.

ETA:  Our agency informs us that FOUR families received approval this a.m.  Wow.  Hopefully mine is on its way!

Guess who finally put the crib together?

Yep! Me!!!!!  I had bursts of optimism all this weekend so I put the crib together, washed the bedding and bought warm clothes for Matthew.  (I was so sure he was coming home in the summer I never bought anything with long sleeves!  Plus, Kohl’s was having a sale and the clothes were so cute…)

Three Weeks…

My RFE response was officially received by the HCMC Adoptions Unit yesterday.  Yay! ::throws confetti:: We are all supposed to receive a response within 3 weeks of receipt, barring unforeseen circumstances with particular cases.

We have heard hints that it may not take 3 weeks, and CIS is going to process in order of I600 acknowledgment date.  I have the 2nd oldest I600 acknowledgment date – March 27th, when I was younger and happier, lol – so hopefully I’ll hear sooner rather than later.  My homestudy expires end of October so it would be great to get this all wrapped up before then…

I have received updated photos of Matthew – thanks Shannon and Mer! And he looks…annoyed, lol.  I think he knows he’s been in the orphanage longer than he should’ve been and he wants to come home. :)
