I’m still uncertain about the timing of the notification of deadlines by VN and the release of the AP story. IIRC, the DIA said that the deadlines were part of a diplomatic note in accord with the MOU, but Tad seems to think it may have been in response to the release of the AP report. Who knows? And I doubt it matters now - the end result is the same. Although I guess it does matter insofar as I would hope if VN ever re-opens, those in positions of authority can learn from their mistakes.
Because I truly believe mistakes were made on both sides.
