Tonya,

My heart goes out to you. I cannot imagine being in your shoes right now. I know it is hard to be optimistic. But there is still time. It could still happen.

May your God bless you.

Hi,
I agree as well. I am single and ready to be a mom. I have not found that perfect guy yet-but I know I am ready for motherhood. Orphans need families, I have a steady home-so here I am-why should I have to be married....

I received a referral of a beautiful baby girl in March from Ho Chi Minh City. Unfortunately, last week I lost the referral (long story and not lots of answers). This has been beyond devastating to me. I cannot even put into words my feelings and emotions. This by far has been the hardest thing I have ever dealt with in life.

I just recently "found" your blog and would love to continue following your journey. If you feel comfortable sharing the password, please email me. If this protected posts are just for family and close friends, I completely understand.

Take care! Here's hoping you get that approval soon!

I'm working through the scenarios as well. Our agency has had some other complications in-country and so our dossier has been logged for well over a year now. Perhaps that has made the blow softer for us. Although, just a month ago I felt the same way as Mer.

I think that many of the agencies that don't work with singles have connections to religious groups that define marriage as one man and one woman. They fear that you may a have a partner that could help you provide a loving home to a child. Instead of an "don't ask, don't tell" policy they simply choose not to talk to you.

My 2 cents. Of course it won't be true for all agencies.

There was recently a religious run agency in the UK that closed their doors rather than comply with the new regulations that said they had to work with gay couples.

I guess I'm just a christian of a different flavor. I understand the line of logic, but still don't "get it".
